Judges
I am pleased and honored to have been selected to serve as the City Republican Chairman. I plan to re-invent the city party into a unified operation focused on bring good, honest, open government to our citizens at all levels of operation. Our city organization will be committed to getting new interested citizens involved and energized, and having a very effective communication system in place. Anyone who wants to become a part of the process will have a home in the Pottsville City Republican Committee
I have several areas of focus for 2008 and beyond. They include:
- Voter Registration – I want to see the Republican party ranks swell within the city. Ibelieve people really are ready for a change in Pottsville. The city has been under Democratic leadership for many years, and I see signs of encouragement for our party everywhere I go. We will reach out to all potential voters – young, old and anywhere in between, and welcome them to our party. We will also be glad to welcome Democrats or Independents to our party if they choose to join us. All viewpoints will be respected and valued as we build our new organization.
- Fundraising – Unfortunately, in politics it costs money to run campaigns. We are committed to building a network of donors throughout the city – small donors and those able to make more significant contributions. We will welcome anyone who can help in any way, and we will appreciate all of our donors and supporters on an ongoing basis.
- Fielding Candidates for all City Offices – Having a choice in candidates is the most simple foundation of a democracy. We will be committed to recruiting candidates that share a vision and hope for our city’s future. Good candidates that have the best interests of the city in mind. Candidates that have the knowledge, experience and determination necessary to win elections, and then be good leaders when they serve in office. If anyone has ever considered wanting to run for office, we would love to have you join us in the City Republican Committee
